Sustainability has deep roots at Ly Company Group
Our History
Ly Company, the Malaga-based premium water company, a benchmark for the sustainability of its carton packaging (in brik), with an international presence on four continents, already reaching more than 40 countries, is one of the five fastest growing multinationals in Europe: 148% in 2022.
Ly Company is the company that markets the high-quality Aqualy water, which is packaged in brik and has become the world leader in this format and in number of brands. With the personalisation of packaging, they already have more than 1,300 brands that have already opted to reduce their environmental impact.
In addition to the production plant in Malaga, we have plants in the Dominican Republic, Italy and one under construction in Mexico. With our own offices in the USA, Dubai and Japan, our future projects are aimed at setting up our own factories in these countries. We want to be world leaders in sustainable packaging in the largest market in the world, which is water.
A UNIQUE PROCESS
Aqualy water is enhanced with a filtering process to remove impurities and subsequent mineralisation, processes that make it the perfect water with low sodium content, neutral pH, very low mineralisation and low dry residue.
The packaging is one of the most sustainable currently available, as 82-85% of its materials are renewable, made mostly from cardboard from responsibly managed forests with FSC certification; and the cap and the sheets that cover the bottle are made of bioplastic from sustainably produced sugar cane with Bonsucro certification.
PHASES OF EXPANSION
Ly Company started in 2015 as a startup that wanted to minimise the impact of single-use consumer packaging. It brought together professionals with more than 20 years of experience in the environmental, food and engineering sectors and set up a plant in Malaga strategically located for international shipments.
Currently, the packaging plant has a capacity of 23,000 packs/hour with a storage capacity of more than 3,000 continuously rotating pallets.
The company’s plans for 2023 and 2024 are to inaugurate the plant in Mexico, confirm the relationships initiated for the implementation in the Middle East and consolidate our position as world leaders in sustainable packaging in the world’s largest market, which is water.
